TOMB OF RAZIYA BEGUM (NEAR SULTAN BAZAR) -
Raziya Sultan, daughter of Sultan Iltutrnish (A.D. 1211-36), was the only woman who ascended
the throne of Delhi. According to the Arab historian Ibn-i- Batuta, she was killed by a peasant. The tomb consists of four walls without roof; two graves on a platform in the centre of the enclosure are said to be those ofRaziya (one with a small pillar used as stand for lamps) and her sister Sajiya.
