TOMB OF GHAZIUDDIN KHAN (AJMERI GATE) -
Ghaziud-Din Khan, son of Qalij KhwajaAbid of'Iuran, was one of the leading Umras (grandees) during the reigns of Aurangzeb and his son and successor Shah Alam I. His real name was Mir Shihabuddin, and he enjoyed the tide "Ghaziud-Din Khan Bahadur Firuz ]ung". He built the school and mausoleum during
his lifetime. After his death at Ahmedabad in A.H. 1122 (A.D.I7IO) his body was brought to Delhi and interred in the Khanqah which he had constructed during his lifetime. In the enclosure containing three graves the central one is that of Ghaziud- Din Khan, with high marble screen on the sides crowned by pierced balustrades relieved at intervals by dwarf minarets.
